SMART SCALE Round 3

Virginia’s SMART SCALE Program scores transportation projects in an objective, outcome-based way that is transparent to the public. This provides the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) with the best information possible to select the right projects for funding.  For additional information on SMART SCALE, please visit http://vasmartscale.org/.

For Round 3 of SMART SCALE, nine regional applications were submitted. The projects were chosen through a cooperative process with the FAMPO localities and committees. The nine applications are listed below and can be seen on the following map.

 

  • SB I-95 Widening to 4 Lanes from Mpt 128.7 to Exit 126 – $34.3 million
  • SB I-95 Widening to 4 Lanes from Mpt 128.7 to Exit 126 with Exit 126 SB Auxiliary Deceleration Lane – $35.8 million
  • I-95 Exit 126 STARS Study Improvements – $28.3 million
  • NB I-95 Widening to 4 Lanes from Exit 126 to Exit 130, and Exit 126 STARS Study Improvements – $62.7 million
  • US 17 Business STARS Study Improvements and New Commuter Parking Lot – $21.7 million
  • I-95 Exit 136, Centreport Parkway, US Route 1, and Enon Road Improvements – $22 million
  • Route 3 STARS Study Improvements – $7.4 million
  • Route 3 STARS Study Improvements, I-95 NB to Route 3 EB Ramp Improvement, and Gateway Blvd Extension to Cowan Blvd – $43.8 million
  • New Commuter Parking Lot on Route 3 in Stafford County – $7.5 million
