The Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO) has opened a public comment period to accept comments on the Draft FY 2009 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The UPWP serves as the annual work program for FAMPO. It provides details of the transportation-related planning activities that FAMPO intends to accomplish during the program year utilizing federal, state, and local revenues. It also delineates responsibilities and procedures for carrying out the cooperative transportation planning process. Included in the UPWP is a budget, which details how each fund source will be utilized. This permits the UPWP to act as a grant application for federal funds and also as a management tool for directing the staff activities throughout the year. Federal regulations require that all MPOs develop UPWPs.
A Public Hearing will take place during the joint meeting of the George Washington Regional Commission (GWRC) and the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO) on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. The Public Hearing will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at 406 Princess Anne Street in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
