The MPO staff develops and maintains the Long Range Transportation Plan, the Transportation Improvment Plan, the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), the Public Participation Plan, the Regional Human Services Transportation Plan, and Transportation Improvement Program.
- Conduct research and prepare various planning studies as necessary to carry out the MPO planning process;
- Provide technical assistance as needed to MPO member agencies in local transportation planning;
- To provide public information through public notices, newspaper, newsletter articles, internet and meetings regarding the transportation planning program in the George Washington Region; and
- To ensure 3C "continuing, comprehensive, and cooperative" transportation planning process with local, state and federal agencies.
